Recently I watched this vlog of Jane, one of the topics was about flat-chested. She is a married woman and got commented by a person saying her chest is so flat that her husband will divorce her. I could not believe that an anonymous person following a famous influencer would comment such words cursing another's marriage to be unsuccessful by body-shaming Jane. As a humble follower of hers, I only see the content she made, some of her daily effort and the lifestyle she had on her social media. I know that it is not easy to be an influencer, especially when you reach a certain well-known level by the public and need to deal with "haters". Just that not until she exposed this kind of incident she faced, I wouldn't believe some people's comments would go until this extent of cursing influencer. That comment might be a joke to the person who commented, but they wouldn't know how much these comments can impact the person receiving it. That's why I think that being an influencer, they need to have a strong mental toughness to face negative comments given by haters.
Touching on appearance, we all came to this material world with the physical body given by our parents, where we inherited their DNA. It is of no choice that we can choose your face and body, but we can choose how we will nourish and take care of our own body. Again, it is also a choice and education different people are exposed to, and going through differently as we grow up from the various background. Some appearances attract us and do not attract us. This also depends on our own preference for beauty. All this appearance-wise beauty is just temporary, as time will age everyone slowly.
The added value of beauty in a person apart from appearance is the person's character. I have ever met a person with a decent appearance, but she shows the virtue of empathy, sincerity, kindness and generosity in actions towards all the people who cross her life, besides being an intelligent person. Whenever I see her or even think of her, her character shows up, making her pretty in her own unique way. And even if she ages, these virtues still stick with her forever. I truly believe that character and the virtues of a person portrayed signify that person's upbringing. These virtues are the gems carried by those who last far beyond the physical beauty in this material world.
Let's not just judge a person's appearance; dig out the gems in that person instead.
